First issue - Not sure what can be done about this other than being careful as a ring manager.Earlier today I contacted several ring site members to make nav bar code corrections/updates.
Some were still running the old code (prior to Jan 07). A few of them had login issues and so I simply sent them their nav bar code direct by e-mail as a matter of expediency. One had pop-ups blocked I think and was not getting the ring nav bar code under IE7 - no window was displaying to select a ring and its code. That's another kettle of fish however. I need more info from him.
One site corrected their nav bar code and I don't know what they did next, but they showed up as a new ring site in the pending cue. Not immediately sure if it was the same site or not, I approved it and summarily found I had a duplication under different ring site numbers on my site management page.I deleted the older one and kept the newer one. You may want to consider some kind of check that looks at the registered URL and if that already exists in a ring, to allow it a second time.
Second issue - When the sites are showing up as new pending sites (application to a ring), they are displaying multiple times, like 2 or 3 in a column. Approving/rejecting one clears the cue.
Third issue - In case one above, I had to send the fellow an e-mail to explain to him what happened. He would have received a message accepting him (new site) and a deletion message (old site). Thankfully I had saved his e-mail address from his original registration under the old system.I know that sending e-mail through the system for selected sites is a pending feature. At the same time I found great value in the system notice under the old software that sent the manager the site name, URL, site ID, and the webmaster's e-mail address for file.
I understand the want and need for some security with the e-mail addresses but ring managers need some method of communicating with ring site members external of the system to resolve various problems. My only saving grace here was that I had saved the registration message that had that data.
When you send a mass mail now, the site holder e-mail addresses display as the script executes and can be captured but there is no relationship to the site name or site ID number. We'll need something like that otherwise we're going to be shooting in the dark. Thanks again for all you are doing.

Sorry for the text running together. I don't know what happened.
Might I suggest turning on user editing and user deletion?

Hmmm, alright, give us a bit to look into this and see what's going on. I've edited your message to break it up into paragraphs as well.

UPDATE: This issue should be cleared up now, and a minor code rev is in the works to prevent a site from being added multiple times.

March 25 - Update
Hmmmm.... no. :-)
I had someone apply to my ring this week. I got 6 copies on the new applications page. I wonder if the guy submitted it 6 times? He did note that after he joined the ring, all efforts at getting nav bar code failed. It seems he would not get the drop down window that would allow him to link to the ring and get the code for that ring.
I'm wondering if he has the browser blocking pop ups? I have asked. I believe he has a current browser.
I also got 4 e-mail notifications for the new application. It apperas that there were actually only 2 sent, but each one was addressed to me 2 times in the mail's TO field. I wonder if one copy should have gone to the applicant?
Thanks much,

Hmmm, that shouldn't be happening (obviously). We'll look into this and see what's goingon. It appears he did submit it six times, although I can't imagine how...if it's in your ring in a pending state, it should NOT allow it to be added again.
Is it possible that he added something like:
http://www.somesite.com/ http://www.somesite.com/index.htm http://www.somesite.com//anotherpage.htm
In other words, the same site but different pages? I ask because I just test the code by trying to add a site to a ring multiple times, and it prevents it unless you have different pages added to the end. It even prevents "http://www.somesite.com" and "http://somesite.com" (with and without the "www.").
If this happens again, don't do anything- leave everything there and let me know so I can log in as you and have a good look at it.

UPDATE #1: 3-26-2007 Okay, this problem should be resolved now.
If a person has applied to a ring and tries to apply again (same site, same ring) they'll get a message indicating the site has already applied and is awaiting review and/or activation. The duplicate email issue is also being worked and should be resolved shortly.
UPDATE #2: 3-26-2007 After applying to a site, users will be shown a copy of the default ring code with whatever colors and options you (the ring owner) have saved. If you haven't saved any custom colors or options then the user will be given the standard, unmodified code. A copy of the code is also emailed to the user.
As always, if you have any difficulty or experience any problems, please let us know and we'll get them resolved.
