If I'm reading the forum right, there have been no messages posted since Feb 18.
So I'll post something new to ask where we stand on outstanding features and fixes?
For example, are we any closer to getting a system checker running? :)
And when we do, hopw long will it be to get a ring checker (test all sites or selected sites in a ring) running as we did initially? I'm accespting sites and as each new site is added it is getting incrementally harder to keep tabs on who has the nav bar right and who does not.
Thanks again for all your efforts.

The main page parser (checker) code is done and we're now breaking it into two parts- one part for people to use to check a page manually (there will be a button in your panel for this) and a second part that runs automatically each night to check all of the sites one by one. When the automated part runs it'll generate a report that will be emailed to you. There may also be a screen that summarizes the lates set of reports, showing failed sites, sites not found, sites with code problems, etc. The code-checker part has turned out to be more involved than first anticipated, and I apologize for the long time it's taken, but we're pretty close now. We wanted to make sure we did it right the first time so we'd have a solid system that would work well and give you all some useful info when it runs. I appreciate your patience. Once this is complete we'll look at adding more features and some of the fun stuff.

Much appreciated.
One suggestion, in the SITE MANAGEMENT screen, maybe make the ring sites a hot link that opens in a new page.
That way, we can go to one management screen, view the ring site, to OBSERVE if the nav bar is in place, then from that same screen run the checker - when completed.
At present one has to go to the ring index/hub page for hot links to ring sites. I don't mind running parallel windows but if that coule eventually be incorporated into one management screen it would make for one-stop shopping.
Thanks again for all your efforts.

The checker is up and functional, but it's pretty plain-looking. It'll be prettified as soon as we have time. But it is working, just go to your Sites Admin panel and click on 'test' under the Nav Code headng.
Currently it checks for page size, missing NAVBAR code, code being hidden in comments, spans or divs, and a few other things. We'll have the automated version running nightly within a week or so if all goes well.

When I check one of my own ring sites I get a response. Specifically a no errors response - this is good.
When I go to check ring sites in my ring that are not mine I get a text message that says
"Tut tut tut, no fair checking someone else's site :-)"

Ahhh, one of programmers has a sense of humor. I'll pass this on to the comedian and have it rectified.

(and a poor sense of humor at that)
It has been fixed, you can now check sites that are in your ring (or sites that belong to you). However, the error message is only slightly improved.
