Situation with new sites for web rings....

Apparently there is some issue with "Webring" and until it is resolved, new sites cannot be tied to WebRingo's rings.  I currently have one site waiting to tie into two rings.

I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to, but this site is functioning normally and there is no issue with creating or adding sites or rings here. If Webring is interferring with sites or rings wishing to link here, you may want to contact them and see what that's all about.

This is the e-mail I received from Denis Kirkpatrick on 5/5/08...\\\"Hi Folks - Your application to the ring has been received but there will be a skight delay in processing it.There is a brewing issue over the use of the term \\\"webring\\\" by the operators of \\\"webring.com\\\" th eservice we fled from due to their foisting adult advertisements on our home pages there.  This may force a change to the web ring navigation bar code.I am hoping to resolve this and key-through several pending sites within the next few days so please bear with me while I work these things out.ThanksDennis Kwebmaster@sunclad.com\\\"Right now I am waiting to link my site to two rings....TMM

My e-mail was based in part by an e-mail sent to me by Webring.Com claiming copyright violation over the use of the term "webring" on my pages and within other frameworks associated with net rings such as what we have here. 

I temporarily suspended adding new sites because if the terms changed, it would also require a change to the ring navigation bar code in use, both for this site as well as the directory that the ring logo (that is unique to our ring) is drawn from at my domain.  If forced to make adjustments to ring navigation bar code, I'd rather do it all at once since we have some 45 sites-plus.

The last time the ring nav bar code changed (during this site's development) I lost a few sites because people didn't want to be contacted repeatedly for changes to the nav bar.  Their loss of course - some people are like that in their own little worlds.  Thankfully the sites that remained understood the dynamics and were willing to work with us through the adjustments.

Can't say that would again be the case.

As of this date I have keyed through 1 of 2 sites pending.  The second is showing PENDING in the cue but when I click on PENDING nothing displays so that will require administrative intervention.

If Admin can check the pending cue for Ring 393 it will be a help.
