We don't know how the site-code workd!
« on: May 04 08 »

I have suddenly inherited the Circus Ring from RingSurf!
and the "new viewer" is not acceptable to most sites....
I ought to convert it to your system - the Webring:com(tm) does not accept new rings, and RingLink insists on Icon, (site specific graphic,) from the owners website - yours is the only server that is a remote possibility for replacement!

IF
I could adapt the Site-code, navpanel, to a satisfactory substitute for a RingSurf site-code!
What is your procedure for editing the Site-code, and saving it for members to call for the site?
what is "their site id"? surely it changes for the site?
"your site image" where is the url for the icon? surely it is not loaded from the own site?

Oh, I have got 6 others to transfer in the next time if  succeed in transferring the "Original Circus"

We can help you edit the nave code for your sites if you need to- can you post it here? Alternatively you can send it to us via the contact form.

At the moment it is loaded from an external site, but we can make arrangements for the icon to be hosted here if you need it donw that way.

I don't live on the edge, but sometimes I go there to visit.

   "next" "random"
"previous"  "list"           ( like sample code )
         "webringo.com"           ( politeness! )

I should like it hosted on your machine if possible, yes, in order that "nave" code does not get to have no "icon" if the ringmaster changes!
I have got no plans to give up the ringmaster post, but as bendall.de is not fixed (who is) the icon loaded from your machine would seem to be a good idea!

the query is, where do you write it TO?
The "sample" is not edit-able, What do I write it to!

I have enabled four sites in the "Original Circus Ring, thank you!
A vertical "nave panel" is not possible, then?

A possible snag comes to mind that will prevent a seamless changeover to your server, and I don't know how to clear it!

A hopefully rare circumstance will occur, when the "nave panel" is in FRAMES, where the URL of the "Home Page" (and others) will not occur on the frame where the "nave panel" goes, but in other frames within the FrameSet!
I have inserted a site into the ring that exhibits the snag if you can look at it, please!!
http://webrings.bendall.de/sample/
the registered address which is
http://webrings.bendall.de/sample/links.html

I have inserted an own link, out of the "nave panel," which seems to be the only way to do it!
