I added two new sites to my ring that are my sites under my control. I did this a week plus ago.
My menus will not allow me to select a ring to associate the site with. As such I cannot generate ring code.
No ring code was dispatched to my e-mail address either after adding the site to my account.
I know I can generate generic code and proceed from there but this suggests a possible issue.
I also posted a thread asking when the database updates and displays new additions to the list of sites in a ring. Separate issue but I am wondering is these may be related now?

Never mind... I doped it out myself.
It seems that when you ADD a new site to your holdings, you then must go to the ring hub page to JOIN THIS RING before it will allow you to generate ring code.
That step should be skipped IMO. If you are adding a site to your holdings, the next screen should be what ring you want to add it to and then generate the code.

That's correct- every site must be a member of a ring before code can be generated for it.

We'll see if we can add this, but it bypasses some of the internal checks and balances. It opens things up to abuse in ways that would be difficult to counter, frankly. We may add this, but it'll take a bit of internal restructuring.

I don't live on the edge, but sometimes I go there to visit.

The system does display a note indicating that sites must be accepted into a ring (even your own) before code can be generated for them, but we'll expand that note a bit to make it more apparent.
