Is the system global checker still running? I have not seen any report for some time suggesting that it is running or not. I am lulled into believing that all of my ring sites are working. In fact maybe they are, but at 42 sites, checking them individually is a bit of a chore. Thanks Much. DMK

The automated (nightly) checker is temporarily offline. We were getting some false positives so we're reworking that code and expect to have it operating again within a couple of weeks. We were also getting some complaints about the amount of notification emails it was sending, so we're looking at making that configurable too.

---------------------------------------------- It's been pretty quiet here. Good news is that my rings are running fine as are its sites. Any update on the checker code. Its been near a couple of months now since the last update - give or take. DMK

We're going to be looking at this over the next week.
Yes, it hasd been quiet in here, but the site overall has been having rings and sites added steadily. Some of us have been out of town (I myself have been in and out of Cambodia repeatedly).
We were also receiving complaints that the checker "ran too often" and generated too much in the way of alerts* (email). So, we're trying to find a happy medium, possibly every other night or every thitd night, maybe just once a week. * No alerts would be generated if the sites were fixed and meeting compliance, but that issue seemed to fly over some folks' heads, lol. (No, not you, this was an issue with some other people.)

---------------------------------------------- Automatic or manual as a selectable feature would be nice. I don't think that I (personally) need things to check automatically all the time so being able to run the checker on demand periodically would be nice. DMK

How about recording the date the last time a checker is run by a ring holder? Then have a clock count down 30, 60, 90 days and then at a preset time send the ring holder a reminder that it is time to run their ring checker? It might save system resources if the system-wide checker is only run quarterly, or even bi-annually, placing the responsibility on the ring holder to do it more often. Each ring holder should have an idea of how often they need to run a checker, and can then run it manually as necessary. For me, I just went through close to 50 sites manually - site by site - and found a couple needing a code fix and a couple that are dead - domain is dead (expired) so I dropped the dead ones and sent e-mail to the ones that need a fix. I doubt that I will need to do this again for quite some time to come. DMK
