alt-webring has gone
« on: April 28, 2015, 05:00:26 AM »
I was just trying to surf an alt-webring ring, and found that the alt-webring site has gone. I did some digging in the wayback archives, and found that the domain expired at the end of last year. The owner didn't renew it and it is now owned by one of those holding companies, who have registered the domain for a year.

So goodbye alt-webring. You were great while you lasted. I suppose I'll now have to switch my alt-webring rings to here. I'm a member of the Garden of Friendship which had several rings hosted there. I've just let them know what's happened.

Damn, I had no idea it was gone. If I'd known it was being abandoned I'd have tried to get it so it could be kept alive.

If there's anything we can do to help you move rings here, please let us know.

Thanks Mike! I only had three rings at alt, so that won't be too bad. I also had one at WOW, which has also gone, I've just found out. Their site is still up, but it's a generic articles blog now.

Wow is located at

http://webringworld.gunnar.cc/system.html

Gunner lost the domain and some other ring person got it and pretty much stole all of what was at the old wow

Was that webringword.net, or another domain?

You won't have to worry about that here...this domain is paid up through October 02, 2024. :)
