Chit Chat / WebRing of Video Game Developer Bloggers

http://webringo.com/browsering.php?id=820

A webring is a group of sites which share a common interest and have a forward and back links to each other's sites via a footer or side panel.

This webring is about bloggers who are creating their own video games.

Some reasons why you might want a site or blog... https://indieweb.org/why

It's open to everyone making video games and writing a blog (http only, https currently not supported).
The WebRing NavBar (next, back, etc) must appear on all pages of the blog.

Signing up to webringo and submitting your site is not mandatory, but the benefit is that you can custom create your banner (colours and sizes). If you don't want to sign up to webringo, contact me ( mike (*a*t*) mgarcia.org ) with these details, and I'll add you:

Name- How ever you like to name your site, up to 50 characters.
URL- The ring code must be placed on this page to validate.
Title- A short, descriptive blurb about the site, up to 80 characters.
Description- Up to 2000 characters. Extra characters will be discarded.
Keywords- Words separated by spaces, up to 250 characters. Extra characters will be discarded.
Orientation- Horizontal or Vertical.
Type- Code in JavaScript, iframe or static HTML (http://webringo.com/forum/index.php?action=kb;area=article;cont=20).

Anyway, leave any thoughts below.

Hi again.
My only member uses https exclusively, and modern browsers block any mixing of protocols.

I had problems finding the addurl link on the menu, I wasn't looking there.. i was focused on the admin panel.
Also adding a site to the webring isn't in the admin panel.

A feature I was thinking about was adding RSS URL's of the webring members, combining all the members RSS feeds into one webring feed for updates.

Cheers
Mike.

Your user name and login name are now the same, both are "mgarcia".

Note that you'll need to change your password to complete this (you'll get an email with the link).

thanks works :)

Chit Chat / Game Engine Developers Webring

Hi,
I'm starting a webring for game developers which code their own tech.
Not that many do these days, but it's still an interesting hobby :)

yes, thanks for keeping webrings alive! :)
I think there is a movement pushing back on social media and going back to old fashioned sites.
That indieweb.org looks interesting too!

We're glad you like the site. Yes, it's mostly dormant, but we'd be glad to see it active again.
If you have any suggestions we'd certainly be open to any ideas you have. :)

I found/find the process of adding sites and editing the ring.. all over the place on the menu.
It wasn't intuitive for me.. and the icons are unclear.
Just some feed back, you probably heard many times anyway.

thanks again :)
Mike.

Thought I'd add my 2c.
I'm old and getting off social media.. webrings are a great way of bringing like minded people together!

Hi,
Nice site!
I've changed my profile user name, but I can't log in with it, instead only with the old one.

Also, I want to create a forum page as the webring's main page.
I'm trying to link to my webring ( browsering id=819) but it say's I don't have permission to put external links.

Cheers
Mike.
